Digitalization
The use of digital technologies and methods is an integral part of all our core areas and is a key driver in the development and application of advanced technologies. The focus of our work is the development of new types of sensors that enable precise data acquisition and monitoring in real time. These sensors are designed to monitor critical parameters such as the stability of geological structures and provide early warning of potential risks.
In addition, our focus is on the comprehensive analysis of the collected data. By using advanced technologies such as big data and machine learning, we can capture and evaluate complex systems, giving us deeper insights into the dynamics of mining operations. This enables us to make informed decisions regarding processes, energy consumption, footprint, safety and stability.
None of this would be possible without underlying data management and the integration of different sources into the decision-making process. The portfolio for this data fusion ranges from individual sensors installed underground, to Lidar data, as well as other terrestrial and extra-terrestrial remote sensing information. Ultimately, this allows us to test and optimize different scenarios and their impact on the mining process in a safe, virtual environment. These digital tools are essential for making processes more efficient, minimizing risks and increasing planning reliability.
Our team is actively involved in numerous European research projects and strategic partnerships aimed at further developing these technologies and implementing them in practice. Through these international collaborations, we strengthen our innovative power and contribute to the continuous improvement of digital technologies in mining.
