Rock Mechanics, Rock Engineering and Underground Mining

The “Rock mechanics, Rock Engineering and Underground Mining” working group focuses on the further development of established mining systems and the research towards new, highly efficient mining methods. It is important for us to achieve high safety standards and economic efficiency while minimizing the impact on protected resources. Our approach enables us to provide project-based, practical technical solutions that are specifically tailored to the challenges faced by the industry. We offer mining companies, consultants and authorities comprehensive and competent support in overcoming challenges in mining and geotechnics projects.

We use empirical, semi-empirical, analytical and numerical methods as tools for our engineering solutions. In mine design and rock mechanics tasks, the use of digital techniques is just as natural as the engineering in situ classification of the rock mass and the integration of monitoring measures to observe the behavior of the rock as well as its support and reinforcement. 

In our work we use the results of geotechnical laboratory and in situ tests as well as geological background information as a basis for planning and validate the accuracy of our calculation models using the results of geotechnical and mine surveying measurements. Through this technological orientation we contribute significantly to the optimization of mining processes and increase safety and efficiency in underground mining.
