Digitalization
The use of digital technologies and methods is an integral part of all our core areas and is a key driver in the development and application of advanced technologies. Our work centres on the development of new types of sensors that enable precise data acquisition and monitoring in real time. These sensors are designed to monitor critical parameters such as the stability of geological structures and provide early warning of potential risks.
We also focus on the comprehensive analysis of the collected data. By utilising advanced technologies such as big data and machine learning, we are able to capture and analyse complex systems and gain deeper insights into the dynamics of mining operations. This allows us to make informed decisions regarding processes, energy consumption, footprint, safety and stability.
None of this would be possible without underlying data management and the integration of different sources into the decision-making process. The portfolio for this data fusion ranges from individual underground sensors to Lidar data, as well as other terrestrial and extra-terrestrial remote sensing information. Ultimately, this allows us to test and optimise different scenarios and their impact on the mining process in a safe, virtual environment. These digital tools are essential to make processes more efficient, minimise risks and increase planning reliability.
Our team is actively involved in numerous European research projects and strategic partnerships aimed at further developing these technologies and implementing them in practice. Through these international collaborations, we strengthen our innovative power and contribute to the continuous improvement of digital technologies in mining.
